Horizon scanning involves evaluation of alternative technologies that may not have been previously conceivable to a business.
RB Plant was contracted to undertake a study into waste heat technology using the principles of horizon scanning.
The study initially involved research into available heat recovery technologies, with a critical evaluation of the feasibility of each technology for the process. This allowed our client to cut costs for the next stage of the project where the technology was reviewed in greater detail.
At the next stage, we conducted mass and energy balances to compare prices and the amount of energy and water recovered. This gave the client the information necessary for a cost benefit analysis, a service we also offer as a part of this package.
